Got to the finals of Rank's 1967 Talent Competition. 'Coventry's Top Rave Group', 'The Most Dynamic Group To Hit The Coventry Scene'.

O'Rourke and Stansfield previously in The Gazelles.

Named after the Beat Preachers/Caribbeans first single. Managed by 'a Matador'.


The INVADERS
circa 1963 - 1964

Beat group

Line up: Mick Groves - lead guitar, John Sturgess - rhythm guitar, Bob Bowsie - bass guitar and Pete Ayres - drums. A later addition was a lad named Graham Hankinson as singer / Guitar.

Mick tells us: "... we started at the bottom and worked our way down ... as a performing group we did very little, the general public were very fortunate!"
